December is chaos for restaurants. Every company wants the second or third week of December (far enough from year-end, close enough to feel festive). Those dates book out by late October.

If you're booking now (May), you're ahead of the curve. Here's the typical timeline:

Private Room vs Shared Dining Room

Downunder operates as a single dining room (30-35 capacity). No private rooms, no partitions. For groups of 8-20, you'll share the space with other diners.

If you want exclusive venue hire (full restaurant to yourselves), that's possible - but requires booking the entire room. We've done this for embassy events and large corporate groups. Contact directly for pricing and availability.

For most Christmas parties (10-15 people), shared dining works fine. The room is small enough that your group won't get lost, but not so cramped that you can't have a conversation.

Downunder sits in Santos - between Cais do Sodré and Estrela. Central enough to reach from most Lisbon offices in 10-15 minutes, quiet enough that you're not fighting tourist crowds.
